I have called Lethbridge home for most of my life and understand the economic, business and social landscape of Southern Alberta. I hold two diplomas from the Lethbridge College Communication Arts program and learned aspects of radio and TV production, marketing, advertising, communications and sales, which I have applied throughout my professional career. Creating positive client relationships and customer experiences have been very rewarding while working in financial services, digital marketing, sports marketing and youth athlete development.

EXPERIENCE
2016-2020
Centre Administrator
Alberta Sport Development Centre Southwest
As Centre Administrator, my role was to manage the day-to-day operations and support the Centre Co-ordinator with promoting programs and communicating with youth athletes and their parents. I was responsible for creating marketing materials, maintaining website content, managing social media accounts, bookkeeping, manage our AGLC fundraising license and casino accounts, fundraising events, seminar and workshop planning and completing Government of Alberta paperwork. I was able to streamline processes that made it more accessible and safer for clients to register for programs. The changes resulted in increases in participation and revenue for the centre. In my first full fiscal year, the centre recorded its largest increase in revenue. My contract was not extended and expired on June 30, 2020, due to COVID 19 pandemic restrictions and operating grant delay.

I provided thoughts and opinions on important business decisions, collaborated to develop yearly sales targets, marketing plans and annual fundraising dinner. I was looked upon to mentor and provide direction for the sales department by assisting in the interview process, onboarding new hires. I contemporized and developed new revenue streams, including creating the corporate ticket voucher program in 2011/12, the video board's successful launch in 2012 and complete logo rebranding in 2013. Advertising revenue increased by 5% in the 11/12, 12/13 seasons and 20% in the 2013/14 season by charging a premium in higher-visibility advertising positions. My position was eliminated due to restructuring on June 2, 2015.
2009-2011
Account Manager
TriCube Media
This position was based at the Medicine Hat News and supported the Lethbridge Herald, Kelowna Daily Courier and Penticton Herald websites by prospecting new advertisers and presenting online advertising and digital marketing products. I was the point of contact for the traditional newspaper sales team and provided digital marketing sales training. Monthly advertising revenue increased by 30% in my first nine months, and the Lethbridge Herald website's monthly views by 10% in my first year. Collaborated with team members for the new Lethbridge Herald website and launched the Lethbridge Herald Facebook and Twitter accounts.
During my first year, I answered calls and provided current financial information on annuity contracts. I calculated death benefits, early withdrawal penalties and providing appropriate paperwork for account maintenances and withdrawals. I transitioned to a training role within nine months. In this role, I developed training materials and facilitated new hire training classes for the annuity division. This role required mentoring a group of new hires to ease their transition into the workplace. I collaborated with U.S.-based trainers and subject matter experts to create training programs and single-handily facilitated four-week training programs with class averages at 98%. I was involved with committees and teams to help enhance the workplace culture and received two Sun Life "Star Awards "for dedication to my team and two Dalbar awards for customer service. Hurricanes Speical Events
I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to collaborate in various fundraisers and special events while with the Hurricanes. Celebrity dinners include Gordie Howe, Curtis Joseph and Paul Coffey and special guest appearances with Theo Fleury, Bryan Trottier and Jamie McLennan. One of my favourite events with the Hurricanes was the annual Skills Competition. This was an event that I developed with the coaches, obtained sponsorships and was the on-ice host. You can see highlights from the 2015 skills competition below.

HOBBIES
I enjoy hobbies that I can share with my family. Sports has always been a passion for me. I spent 16 seasons as a hockey official and have coached my kids, basketball, soccer and baseball teams, which has always been a highlight. See below for a season highlight and player pump-up video that I produced for the team. I enjoy photography with my wife (you can see a few of my favourite pictures to the right), and I like to hunt for new and used vinyl records. You can view my collection here.
